AT ARM'S REACH, ACTIONS
Residency at the Berlin Art Institute (DE) - December 2019
I started to remove the pages of my book At Arm’s Reach. Assembled on the wall, they are simultaneously perceived. This process allows me not to prioritize sensations but rather to ensure that all the gestures flow in the same image.
Through the use of a digital process, I wish to include a time perception. By reproducing this image, I change its color as if the pages of the book were faded by the light, by the day that passes in my studio. The embossing of the original textile image is a deep, folded space that can enclose objects such as movements. In its pictorial version, the embroidered spaces are swallowed. Volumes become illusory. Gestures are held in the hollow space of an image-mirage.
